What we collect
Just browsing
Nothing that identifies you. We do not use third-party analytics, ad trackers, or tracking cookies. Two services see basic technical data when your browser loads a page, the same as on almost any website:
- Cloudflare hosts the site. It processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and block attacks.
- Google Fonts serves our typefaces. Your browser requests them from Google, which sees your IP address.
Product counts
To learn whether the tools help, a few actions add one to a daily tally: building, saving, running, printing, or sharing a practice, saving practice notes, trying the sample lineup, building a lineup, a return visit on a new day, and the homepage buttons and signup. We store only the event name, the page, the date, and the running count. No account, no IP address, no cookie, no ID, and no record of who did it. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted.
When you give us your email
Some tools ask for an email when you print, download, or ask us to send you something. You can skip it and still use the tool. We store the email address and which page you signed up from.
When you email yourself a lineup
We send that one lineup to the address you typed. We do not save the lineup online. To stop abuse, we keep a scrambled, one-way code made from your email and IP address, not the address itself. Your email joins our list only if you check the updates box.
When you make an account (Hit Window, Pitch Tracker, Athlete Plan)
- The adult: name, email, and whether you are a parent or coach.
- Each kid: a first name or nickname and an age or age group. Coaches can add a jersey number.
- Activity: Hit Window scores, and for each ball the target hit, any called shot, and the contact type you tap (liner, grounder, fly ball, pop up), plus the pitch type for the round (tee, toss, machine, live). Pitch Tracker counts, pitch types, and locations you log.
- Team Battles and Tournaments: the team or event name, the hitter nicknames you type in, and every ball logged. Anyone with the result link can see the event, so use nicknames only.
- Athlete Plan: for each athlete, a first name or nickname, age, sport, and the answers you give (position, experience, season, days and minutes, gear, a growth spurt or discomfort you report, games and practices), plus the sessions, updates and weekly check-ins you log, including any note you type or dictate. It is saved in your browser first and backed up to your account only after you sign in. Nothing in it is a diagnosis, and we never share it.
Hit Window auto camera
If you turn on the auto camera, your phone watches the net to call where each ball went. The video is read on your phone, frame by frame, and thrown away. We never record it, save it, or send it anywhere. Only the call it makes (which target, and the contact type) is saved, the same as tapping it yourself.
Saved in your own browser
Rosters, lineups, saved practices and your practice notes, your age group and page style choices, Back Pocket Cards, Athlete Plan athletes and logs, game progress in Launch Lab, Skipper, and Arena games in progress, your sign-in, and the last email you used are kept in your browser's storage on your device. A practice you share travels only inside the link you send. We do not see them unless you send them to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Kids
- Accounts are for adults 18 and older. Kids never get an account and never give us their own email.
- We never collect a kid's last name, photo, school, email, or location.
- Hit Window leaderboards are public and show a kid's nickname and age group. Team Battle and Tournament result links show the nicknames typed in. Pick a nickname that is not a full name.
- Coaches add players only with a parent's OK.
- If you think a child gave us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
How we use it
- To run the tool you asked for, save your data, and sign you back in.
- To send occasional DugoutLab coaching tools and updates if you signed up for an account or a tool, or checked the updates box. Reply "unsubscribe" to any email and we stop.
Who helps us run it
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with services that run the site for us:
- Cloudflare: hosting and our database.
- Resend: delivers emails you ask for.
- Google: fonts, and a private spreadsheet copy of signup emails.
If we add paid products, the payment company handles your card. We never see card numbers. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Deleting your data
- Pitch Tracker: delete a player and every session from their stats page, or your whole account from your home screen. It happens right away. Deleting your account also removes every Athlete Plan athlete backed up to it.
- Athlete Plan: delete an athlete and every log from the Today screen. It is removed from your browser and from your backup right away.
- Anything else: email [email protected] from the address you used. We delete it from our database and our spreadsheet copy.
We keep your data until you delete it or ask us to.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections and sits with the providers above. No system is perfect, so we keep the amount we hold small.
